Rainer Burkardt’s practice focuses on foreign direct investments, mergers and acquisitions, and real estate and construction counsel for companies based in Germany and across Europe in the chemicals, automotive and engineering industries that are entering China. He has spent 11 years in China advising German and other European companies on entering or operating in the region.
Prior to joining Squire Sanders, he established an office in Shanghai for a leading independent German law firm. He is the author of articles in several PRC-related magazines and a frequent speaker at PRC-related seminars.

Professor Wang Weida was born in Shanghai, China in 1948. He studied Public Administration Science and finished his study with a Master's degree and PhD (Speyer Germany). He works in the field of Public Administration Law and Public Administration Science. As Professor he works in the School of Law and in the Chinese-German School of Tong Ji University. He is also Member of the Board of Directors of the Law Society Shanghai, Member of the Board of Directors of the Society of Public Administrative Science Shanghai, Member of the Board of Directors of the Society of Community, Development Shanghai, Vice Chairman of the Society of Administrative Law Shanghai, Guest-Research Fellow of the  Institute comperative administrative law of  Chinese People’s University.
Since 1994 he has in Charge of more than 10 researching projects, given by Shanghai government , e.g.“A Study of the Government Behavior under the Conditions of the Socialist Market Economy” (1994),;“A Study of the Law Enforcement in the Community level in Shanghai (1996); “A Study of the Economic Law of EU”(1998); “A Study of the Principles of the Administrative Penalties”(2000); “A Study of the development of rule by law in Shanghai 1980 – 2000” (1999-2001); “ A Study of the  new model of law enforcement in the field of intellectual property protection” (2001); “ A Study of  legal Problems in the Privatization of the public Resources” (2005); “ A Study of the administrative law in the field of Culture in foreign countries” (2006); “A Study of the Governance in the public Institutions” (2006) and “A Study of the development of the government ruled of law in Shanghai 1978-2008, (2008),.

Prof. Jianwei Wu, PhD

Jianwei Wu is a professor and deputy dean at the School of Economics and Management at Tongji University. He is also the head of the Institute of Industrial Economics at Tongji. Dr. Wu god his PhD at Reading University UK in 1994, and his Masters Degree at Wuhan University in China, both with majoring in the subject of International Economics.
His research focuses and interests includes urbanization and city planning in China, development of the Chinese economy, business behavior in under cross cultural environment, negotiation and business communication, marketing and business environment in China, business communication and cross culture management.
Dr. Wu’s consulting projects include, among others: Design regional CBD in Wuxi fast railway station, Jiangsu province of China (starting from 2007), joint project with a German architecture and urban planning company; Optimizing and upgrading Shanghai industrial structure during the 11th 5 year plan (2006-2007);Urban planning for Northern Chengdu city, planning for leisure, commercial, communication, residential and historic spots in 37 square kilometers (2006), joint project with a French architecture design company.
