Last summer, CBL International joined forces with WorldStrides, the biggest educational travel and study abroad provider in the world. “It was a very exciting step for us to become part of such a professional organisation as WorldStrides. We are already celebrating more than one year of this exciting partnership. It is a true honour working with so many amazing colleagues and offering more outstanding study abroad programmes than ever”, explains Dr. Dominik Wanner, CEO and Founder of CBL International.
“We could not be more pleased to have welcomed CBL International to the WorldStrides family,” said Jim Hall, President and CEO of WorldStrides. “The union of these two outstanding organisations has already, and will further enhance, the experience of current and future students from around the globe and allow WorldStrides to significantly expand our offerings for undergraduate and graduate university students.”

2016 was the first summer to offer a completely new study abroad programme for university and college students based in the United States. Through WorldStrides’ network it was possible to offer Ivy League Summer Institute based in the Wasserstein Building on Harvard Law Campus. Elizabeth Wood, Vice President Academic Programmes, said “this summer’s US programmes gave delegates the opportunity to immerse themselves in Ivy League college life, attend fantastic lectures, and enjoy an engaging social programme. We’re already looking forward to 2017 programmes with new extension options and academic courses.”
Ivy League Summer Institute dates for 2017 are now confirmed and enrolment is already possible for next July, with more sessions on offer. On top of that, delegates will have the option to extend their study abroad session to include two weeks in either Oxford (UK) or Cambridge (UK), or a week in New York City, Washington D.C, or even beautiful Spain! This summer we also offered two amazing programmes for our high school delegates, who were able to choose incredible elective courses at Wasserstein Hall on Harvard Law School’s campus as well as at Yale University campus. As an integral part of their study abroad programme, students also had the exciting opportunity to explore Boston, New Haven, Washington D.C. and New York.
“These programmes are wonderful for students who are motivated and aspire to do meaningful things during the summer. Many of our delegates from Asia and other regions attended courses at both Cambridge and New Haven. In 2017, delegates will not only get to do this, but also have the opportunity to link them up with courses at Oxford and Cambridge universities,” says Richard Lin, Managing Director of Asia-Pacific at WorldStrides. “I personally witnessed students being challenged, motivated and inspired on these programmes. The academic rigour, new experiences, and close friendships formed here are truly fulfilling and life-changing.”
Ivy League Summer Academy dates are now available for 2017, and all delegates will have the opportunity to extend their time with us to include sessions in Oxford (UK) or Cambridge (UK). For more information please visit www.ivyleaguesummeracademy.com

This summer, CBL International supported the charity KEEN Oxford. 11 of our delegates attended KEEN sessions to work with young people with special needs to play hockey, table tennis, and other sports. This gave CBL International delegate volunteers the chance to learn how to communicate and interact with people with physical and learning disabilities.
KEEN Coordinator Adam Godwin told us that “Working alongside CBL International has given KEEN an opportunity to continue delivering its sports sessions during the summer. For this, KEEN and its members are extremely thankful for their support and look forward to working with them in 2017!”
One of our delegates, Lorena Manas Avellan, shared the following with us about her time with KEEN: “The hour that had been scheduled for this activity went by too fast, but it left us with blissful memories that we will always cherish. Helping others to the best of our capacity should be any student´s priority. KEEN offered us that chance. I wish I had been able to spend more Thursdays at Oxford, to assist KEEN in their priceless activities.”
