A whole day on logistics was part of CBL International’s China summer school in August. After an introduction on the topic by our partner Hapag-Lloyd, the participants headed for Waigaoqiao to visit a container depot and warehouse.
The day-tour continued to Lingang New City, that was builded within the last 5 years as a concept city for maritime and logistics. It is located next to Yangshan Deep-Water Port, since 2010 the biggest port of the world. To get there, you have to take the 30 kilometer bridge that connects the Yangshan islands with the mainland.
“This was a unique experience”, says Patrick Scheller, who is studying law in Munich. “The harbor is overwhelming, and the logistics city is made for maritime and logistics. You can feel that this will be one of the biggest trade hubs in the future.”
CBL International was organizing the ‘Logistics Day’ for the second time already. If you are interested in hosting a one-day logistics/urban planning trip for your company, university or chamber, please contact us.
